Focus

The aims of Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen - Journal of Applied Management (JAM) are to publish and disseminate high quality original research papers, to support the development of management science. JAM prioritizes originality, specificity, and up-to-date articles in each of its publications.

 

Scopes

Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen - Journal of Applied Management (JAM) publishes all types of research articles that are related to science and applied management. The research method approach includes Quantitative, Qualitative, and Mix Method. Priority topics in Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen - Journal of Applied Management (JAM) are Religious Studies, Gender Studies, and Current Development.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen (Journal of Applied Management) go through a double-blind peer review process.

The procedure begins with the selection of the editor and/or section editor. Before choosing reviewers, the chosen editor and/or section editor conducts an initial peer review process to determine whether the focus and scope are appropriate. Generally, the candidate of reviewers will be chosen based on their reputation in the international publication number and quality. Next step, The Editor or/and Section Editor send the invitation letter for each candidate of reviewer. After the candidate of reviewer informed their availabilities for reviewing process, Editor or/and Section Editor create account for each reviewer and then send manuscript by OJS.

In the reviewing process, all reviewing process are in double blind review and managed by editor and/or section editor in the OJS. there are at least two reviewers for each manuscript in the related topic. Three weeks will be needed for reviewer to complete one round reviewing process.

 

Plagiarism Policy

Authors should only submit original work that hasn't been published or isn't currently being considered elsewhere. The editorial team will check submitted manuscripts against previously published works using Turnitin or another plagiarism detection tool. In the first step, a turnitin program will be used to check each submitted manuscript for degrees of plagiarism. 20% is the upper limit for all detected sources combined, while 2% is the upper limit for each source. If the manuscript passes Turnitin, the next step is to check with additional programs and search engines to prevent plagiarism software from being cheated.

 

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen (Journal of Applied Management) is published four times a year, in March, June, September, and December.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Publication Process

The publication process in Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen (Journal of Applied Management) can take up to 8 weeks, sometimes even longer. The review process aims to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the article, in terms of originality, suitability to the field of management science, interest, up-to-dateness, novelty of the article, benefits, and balanced argumentation. The publishing processes consist in 15 steps:

Step 1 – The author registers in the OJS (Open Journal System) and submits the complete manuscript in .doc or .docx format at: https://jurnaljam.ub.ac.id/index.php/jam/user/register (Submitted manuscripts will be given a manuscript ID). All manuscripts processed are only manuscripts sent to OJS. Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen (Journal of Applied Management) will not process articles that are not sent via OJS.

Step 2 – Manuscripts sent by registered authors will be checked for suitability of Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen (Journal of Applied Management)'s focus and scope by the Editor in Chief. If the manuscript is not suitable then the manuscript will be rejected (the author is informed via email that the manuscript cannot be processed further). If appropriate, it will be submitted to the editor and/or section editor by the Editor in Chief.

Step 3 – The editor and/or section editor will do an initial review. In the initial review process, the editor and/or section editor will check the novelty of the manuscript and conformity with standard research criteria from Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen (Journal of Applied Management). If the manuscript is not suitable then the manuscript will be rejected. If it is appropriate, the editor and/or section editor will screen the manuscript with iThenticate software to find similarities. If the manuscript is similar to other papers in its field, then the manuscript will be rejected. Rejection information will be sent via email and the status of the manuscript on OJS to “archived”.

Step 4 – Selection of potential reviewers. The candidate of reviewers will be chosen based on their reputation in the international publication number and quality. Next step, The Editor and/or Section Editor send the invitation letter for each candidate of reviewer. After the candidate reviewer is informed of their availabilities for the reviewing process, the Editor and/or Section Editor create an account for each reviewer and then sends the manuscript by OJS. The manuscript will be sent to two or more reviewers, either new reviewers or reviewers who are already on the reviewer list. In the reviewing process, all reviewing processes are in double-blind review and managed by the editor and/or section editor in the OJS. The peer review process will be started. Reviewers who have completed their work will submit the results of their review to the editor and/or section editor with a recommendation to reject, accept, or request revision before being reviewed again.

Step 5 – The editor and/or section editor will collect all the review results and provide a decision on the manuscript. The editor and/or section editor will decide whether to “decline submission”, accept submission”, or “revision required” based on recommendations from all reviewers. Then the corresponding author will receive an email containing information about the status of the manuscript and reviewers' comments.

Step 6 – If the manuscript is accepted for publication the author/s has to submit the revised manuscript to the editor and/or section editor (may be rejected if it does not satisfy the reviewer's queries). The authors can see from OJS, by logging in, in real-time the stage of their manuscript, assuring a transparent review process.

Step 7 – Revised manuscripts that have been approved by the editor will be accepted for publication.

Step 8 – Authors will be asked to submit a completed identity form and a statement letter provided by Jurnal Aplikasi Manajemen (Journal of Applied Management). An acceptance letter will also be sent via email after all requirements have been met by the author.

Step 9 – The editor and/or section editor will submit the manuscript that has been accepted to the proofreader for grammar checking.

Step 10 – The proofreader will send the manuscript that has been checked and corrected to the editor and/or section editor.

Step 11 – The editor and/or section editor will check the manuscript again with iThenticate software and a search engine to find similarities. If it passes it will be sent to the layout editor. otherwise, it will be handed back to the author.

Step 12 – The layout editor will check the bibliography, citations, and typos for appropriateness. If the layout editor requires revisions that must be carried out by the author, the layout editor will send a request to the author via email.

Step 13 – Galley proof will be formed for the author/s approval (Author Proofread).

Step 14 – The manuscript typesetting and final editing process will be started based on the author/s feedback.

Step 15 – The manuscript will be published after the final approval from the author/s.

The Editorial Board takes responsibility for making publication decisions for submitted manuscripts based on the reviewer’s evaluation of the manuscript, policies of the journal editorial board, and legal restraint acting against plagiarism, libel, and copyright infringement.

 

Publishing timeline

1. Time to Initial Review (Steps 1 - 3): 1 – 2 weeks.

2. Review Time (Steps 4 - 7): 3 – 8 weeks.

3. Publication Time (Steps 8 - 15): 1 – 2 weeks.
